SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS 
City of Prince Albert Youth Administrative Group
St. Mary Students, if you are interested in strategic planning for youth programing in the city of Prince Albert, here is your chance!! Come and join the St. Mary Youth Planning Committee. Our first meeting will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the Conference Room. The City of Prince Albert Youth Administrative Group helps focus and centralize all requests and interest of Prince Albert youth ages 13-18. The St. Mary Planning Committee will then advise various Prince Albert city departments. If you are interested and would like to voice your opinion about youth programing, please attend. If you have any questions, please talk to Mr. Gaumond in Room 109.

Volunteers needed for canteen at the musical  
Volunteers are needed to assist with the canteen Wednesday, May 11 - Saturday, May 14.  All shifts are 7 p.m. -10 p.m. Please see Mrs. Bernier in Room 206, if you are able to help.  You may use these hours for Christian Ethics and you get to watch the musical for free!

WRESTLING 
Please check the door on B27 as there are a number of wrestlers needing pictures taken. Some wrestlers still need to return their singlet.

SMHS MAJOR AND MINOR ATHLETIC LETTERS
Grade 12 students who have participated in sports over the past years are invited to apply for an athletic letter that will be presented during the June Awards Celebration. Application forms are available on the Student tab of the Pursueonline career website and must be submitted to the office by Friday, May 13th. 

TRACK 'N' FIELD DISCUS PRACTICES
Discus Throws practices will be Tuesdays at 6 p.m. (Harry Jerome Track)Wednesdays at 7:47 a.m. (soccer field) and Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. (soccer field).


RELAY FOR LIFE VOLUNTEERS 
Organizers are requesting 6 students to help on Friday, June 3rd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Please see Mrs. Kopchynski for additional information.

GRADE 12 GRAD RETREAT
Attention all Grade 12 students! Friday, June 3rd is the Grad Retreat from 9:00 a.m. - 3:25 p.m. Join us at the beautiful Par Place where we will retreat, relax, reconnect with friends both new and old, and reflect in enjoyable and meaningful ways about where we are, what we’ve done, and where we are going. GENERAL PROFICIENCY AWARD
The General Proficiency Award is presented to the student in each grade who makes the most complete contribution to the whole life of St. Mary High School, including academics, religious life, athletics, and school-sponsored activities. The application form for Grade 9 - Grade 12 students, available on the Student tab of the Pursueonline career website, must be submitted to the main office by Friday, May 6th at 3:30 p.m.

ROTARY CITIZENSHIP AWARD
Grade 11 students are encouraged to apply for the Rotary Citizenship Award to be presented at the June Awards Assembly. This award is presented to a Grade 11 student who is involved in the school, community, church etc. The application form, available on the Student tab of the Pursueonline career website, must be submitted to the main office by Monday, May 16th at 3:30 p.m. The student’s academic transcript and attendance record will also be given to the awards selection committee.

SLC SPRING SPIRIT WEEK 
WEDNESDAY MAY 4 Blue and White Day  
Wear your favorite blue jeans, jerseys and school clothing to show your school spirit.
THURSDAY MAY 5 Twin Day
Grab a friend and plan to match each other’s outfits for the day.
FRIDAY MAY 6 Rock Paper Scissors Tournament 
The SLC invites you to the stage to participate in the first St. Mary’s Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament.  In this game of chance, you will require no skill except for the knowledge of how the game works. It is open to anyone, teachers or students who is willing to participate and show school spirit.  The competition requires a one dollar entry fee and the winner will receive a prize from the SLC!  Remember, the more friends you bring and convince to take part with you, the bigger the prize!  You will get one shot! If you win, you move on to the next competitor. If you lose, you’re out.  The final will be best out of three, so stay and watch this crazy game of chance unfold!

SMHS GRAD AWARDS
Students who are interested in applying for awards that will be presented at Grad 2016 must submit a Grad 2016 Awards Application Checklist Cover Page and Grad 2016 Awards Application. These forms, as well the Royal Legion Verification Form and The Sisters of Our Ladies of the Cross Scholarship Application, are available at the Credits and Awards page of the career website. An awards package containing a description of the awards is available at the main office. The checklist cover page, awards application, and other required documents must be submitted to the main office by Friday, May 20th at 3:30 p.m.

ELWOOD HARVEY COOPERATIVE LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP - GR. 11
Two $2500 scholarships will be awarded in each of the 12 geographic districts. To be eligible to apply, students must be a member of Affinity Credit Union, or a dependent of a member. COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
SUMMER JOBS AT WASKESIU HERITAGE MUSEUM
The Waskesiu Heritage Museum has two summer student jobs available: a Museum Guide and Curator Assistant position (~June 27th – September 4th) and a Database Administrator/Museum Guide position (~July 4th – September 2nd).
